The Federation of Construction Employers (FPSC) is supporting construction, design, and building materials production companies by offering free training courses through the project "DigiConstruct - Digital Skills for the Construction Industry (SMIS 143383)," co-financed by the European Social Fund through the Operational Human Capital Program 2014-2020.
350 employees from the construction sector will benefit from courses tailored specifically for the sector (Building Information Modeling) and general relevance (Data Protection, Business Intelligence, Digital Communication, Remote Work on Digital Platforms, or Cybersecurity) by the end of this year.
"Our message to the owners and managers of SMEs in the construction industry, who have their headquarters or operational points in any development region except the Bucharest – Ilfov region, is: take advantage of the free courses under the DigiConstruct project, as they are developed by industry specialists, address current market needs, and the program is flexible. The courses are conducted exclusively online, with a duration of 40-60 hours, depending on the chosen theme. Please follow the course calendar on our website, https://digiconstruct.ro/, which we update regularly," stated Mrs. Irina Forgo, Communication and Promotion Expert within the project.
At least 10 of the companies that enroll their employees in the project will receive consulting on implementing relevant workplace learning programs six months after the project ends.
The tools for digitalizing processes in construction are no longer a distant utopia but are part of the reality of construction sites in Romania. HoloLens glasses, IoT technology, the digital representation of buildings through BIM, or Digital Twin—the digital representation of a physical object—are all tools used in most EU countries. The European Commission's goal for 2030 is for 70% of European SMEs to achieve a minimum level of digital maturity. Currently, in France, 35% of real estate development teams include a BIM specialist, and in the UK, the global leader in implementing BIM methodology in construction, public works can only be undertaken by companies with Level 2 BIM implementation since 2016more information and registration, please visit the project website https://digiconstruct.ro/ or https://digiconstruct.ro/formular-inscriere/!
