The Caminota system is used for finishing masonry walls made of fired brick, aerated concrete, or unburned brick (such as cob, clay, etc.). The material cost is comparable to cement-based alternatives on the market. However, Caminota materials are much more environmentally friendly, being 100% natural and applicable by anyone.
Any mistakes in plastering or finishing can be corrected, as the process is reversible with the addition of water. After applying the paint, the walls will repel water in the form of droplets while remaining permeable to water vapor, which contributes to the health of the occupants as well as the building.
Compared to cement-based materials, the advantages of natural clay-based materials are:
- They balance humidity in the air, maintaining a pleasant indoor environment with 50% relative humidity.
- They prevent the formation of condensation in walls.
- They prevent the growth of mold.
- They do not emit volatile organic compounds; rather, they absorb them.
- They are 100% compatible with old materials and buildings made of unburned earth, cob, clay, etc.
- They contain no cement, resulting in energy consumption during production that is up to 100 times lower.
All Caminota products hold Technical Approval, ISO 9001 certification, and comply with the German standard for clay mortars DIN 18947, superior class. The Caminota system is developed and produced in Romania and is a brand of Eco Living Project SRL, a member of the Technology Enabled Construction Cluster – TEC.
